(1) The territory of the Republic of Moldova, in terms of administrative organisation, is structured in villages, towns, districts and the autonomous territorial unit of Găgăuzia. Certain towns may be declared municipalities under the law. (2) Places on t he left bank of the Dniester River may be assigned special forms and con ditions of autonomy, according to the special statutory provisions adopted by organic law. (3) The status of the capital of the Republic of Moldova, the city of Chi șinău, is regulated by organic law. [Art.110 amended by the Law no. 344 -XV of 25.07.03, MO nr.170 -172/08.08.03, art.721]
